От известно време правя неуспешни опити да се сдобия със сърце (говеждо). Има ли някой идея как и от къде мога да си намеря. В кварталните месарници се оказва, че е голяма рядкост. Освен ако нямаш някой познат месар дето да те снабди.

Има тук-там месарници, които се занимават специално с карантия. Преди няколко години попадах на такава на ъгъла на Опълченска и ... ха де, коя беше уличката? Съвсем близо е до Козлодуй - мисля, че е първата след нея нагоре по баира.

За дискусите ли ти трябва ,по принцип можеш да заместиш с пуешки, а иначе е голяма мъка аз се сдобивам от село, като се коля теле сърцето е за мен, абе голяма мъка :lol:

На Женския пазар при арабите има постоянно карантия аз от там си взимам телешко сърце , трябва да търсиш през делничен ден . На Орлин храна е добра сравнително аз я ползвам и съм доволен ама ще ти е скъпа ако храниш често ако държиш сам да забъркаш манджи :) пиши на ЛС ще ти дам една две рецепти за ДИСКУСИ :)
А защо не ги напишеш тук, да научат и другите?

My recipe is as follows:
1 Beef Heart deveined and all fat removed an equal amount of frozen plankton
1 lb. shrimp or prawns cooked
a small bag of frozen peas
1 tbsp. paprika
2 tbsp. spirulina powder
1 raw egg [free range ]
1 mango or papya either of these have a natural product that destroys internal parasites
1 bananna
1 jar of baby food squash and 1 of pears
1 tbsp of canarathasion or 10 30,000iu beta carotine capsules to bring the colors out
1/2 cup of oatmeal baby food
and finally
2 packets knox gelatin dissolved in 1/2 cup of boiling water.
All the ingredients are fine ground in a food processor then mixed with an electric beater.

Bing Seto's Beefheart Recipe
I recently visited Bing Seto's "Discus World" hatchery in Alemeda, CA. He gave me permission to publish the beefheart recipe he uses for his fish. Obviously, this will need to be scaled for the average hobbyist!
100 pounds of beefheart
50 pounds of shrimp
25 pounds of "Ginger Spirulina Flakes"
25 pounds of "Ginger Color Flakes"
(Note: In 1995, Bing sold me some of his Pigeon Blood fry. He grew out several of the fry from the same hatch that my own fish came from. I was very surprised to see a deeper red in the finnage compared to my fish. He attributes this to the shrimp in his recipe. Perhaps it could also be the color flakes? In any case, the difference was significant enough for me to decide to start feeding more than the Tetra Bits, bloodworms, and egg-based formulas that I have been experimenting with.)

1 kg beefheart (chop, uncooked)
200 g oat bran
200 g spinach (boiled)
2 eggs
2 g paprika
some drops multivitamen Hydrosol (Hydrosol Roche 20 ml/l)
3 ampoules B 12 Delagrange vitamin *
3 pills iron (fumarate or citrate)
* Delagrange is a brand name, and an ampoule is a glass vial approaximately the size of a small test tube. (Perhaps 5 ml?)

2 Whole Beef Hearts - Trimmed
1 .87 oz can of Tetra Krill-E
1 7/8 oz can of Wardley Spectra IV
1 .88 oz can of Wardley Spirulina Plus
1 tsb Paprika
1 14 oz can of Spinach drained (reserve liquid)
1 1/4 deheaded shrimp (table shrimp, the kind you eat)
2 cloves of Garlic
2 droppersful of liquid Poly-Vi-Sol Vitamins for children
3 pkgs of Knox Unflavored Gelatine
Remove fat and sinew from beef heart. Deshell shrimp. Run the beef heart and shrimp through a meat grinder. I alternate a piece of beef heart and then a few shrimp. I then process the krill, spectra, spirulina, and paprika in a food processor till it becomes a powder. Set this mixture aside. Put the drained spinach (reserve the liquid), garlic, and vitamins in the food processor till you have a liquid mixture. Mix together the meat, dry, and liquid mixtures. Put the reserved spinach liquid and enough water to equal 1 cup in a sauce pan. Sprinkle gelatine on top of liquid and let it set for one minute. Heat gelatin till dissolved, do not boil, stirring constantly . Add to beef heart mixture, stir well. I spread the mixture on a cookie sheet even with the top lip and let it cool. Put it in the freezer till frozen. Then process it through a salad shooter and refreeze.
My discus are very docile. From the first time I fed this mixture, the fish became very aggressive while feeding. I can't tell you how much they like it.

Tony Griffitts' Beefheart Recipe
4 lbs Beef Heart
8 oz Freeze Dried Krill
4 to 6 tsp Kent Zoe Freshwater Vitamins
Small amount of Water for processing
The krill is processed first in a meat grinder, which turns it into a powder. Then the beef heart is ground twice. I then add the powdered krill and the vitamins to the beef heart. I then mix it all together adding water to soften the texture, and then I run it through the meat grinder one more time. I then flatten it out in a zip lock bagy to not more than a 1/4 inch and than I freeze it. After it has been frozen for 24 hours I remove a bag from the freezer and process it through a Salad Shooter for the small discus and then refreeze.
Since I started adding krill to the beef heart mix, I've noticed an explosion in growth. One fish that I thought would end up as runt, and was about to be given away, has had very noticeable increase in size and can no longer be considered a runt.

For all of you wanting to make your own beefheart, this is the way I make it. Since I now only feed it to the pairs, I don't make a large batch anymore.
I purchase
2-3 pkgs. of beefheart(3-4lbs) at the local supermarket.
1-1 1/2lbs of large shrimp (this acts as a binder and keeps all the mix together),
1 can of spinach(8oz),
paprika(for color),
liquid vitamins,
small jar of wheat germ (great for getting the males fertile, vit e), and
freeze dried krill,
optional: banana, apple.
You must defat the beefheart. All fat, gristle is removed from beefheart. So 3-4lbs of beefheart will now be 1 1/2-2 lbs. Shrimp is deshelled. I then add this to a food processor with spinach(drained) and mix well. From here I use a large bowl and add 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp vitamins, 1 tbl spoon of wheat germ, and 3 tbl of krill to the beefheart and shrimp mix.
Mix this all well adding a little water to the bowl to get it moist. Now I use large baggies and place the beefheart mix in them. For a small "mix" such as this I would use about 3-4 baggies. When you add mix to baggies, spread it out so you have a thin layer of mix in the baggies about 1/4" thick.
From here you place in freezer laying flat and let harden for about 6 hours before using. When feeding Discus, I use a knife and cut a thin piece of heart and add to tank. I do not thaw heart mix before using. This works well for me. Hope this helps.
I have used "HORMONE" free and with hormones added beefheart, and have not seen any difference in my Discus Appearance,spawning etc.

Търся, защото ме излъгаха да си купя цихлид стикс на продак, а тази храна е за хищници... метнах се 15 кинта... :cry: :cry: :cry: Даже костенурките ми не щат да я ядат таз "храна", а уж мирише на риба... :cry: :cry: :cry:

Не са нито хищници, нито вегетарианци. Те са всеядни.
Хранят се с по-малки рибки през ноща, защото по това време фосилисът е активен.
Моите, 6 на брой, дълги около 20-22 см, за една нощ изядоха двайсетина хелерчета 3-3.5 см. На следващия ден ги разкарах.
Беше съвсем неотдавна. Ако знаех, че са интересни за теб бих ти ги подарил, но ...
Лошо си направил :cry: .... Просто някои хора не могат да видят красотата в напръв поглед "грозна" риба... :( Чарът им е точно там, че са нощни. За да си ги гледам, без да ги притеснявам съм си направил осветление от 8 светодиода, захранвам ги с адаптор. Така и те са доволни, и аз съм доволен :wink:
Сдобих се със 'сърце' :) Открих го при арабите на ул. цар Симеон до женския пазар, точно както бях посъветван :lol: Много съм доволен а дискуса който беше отказал да яде първи се нахвърли :twisted:. ГОЛЯМО благодаря на всички!
